PT, CLT-LANA — Co-Founder & Lead Lymphedema Therapist
Lamiaa Hefni
— PT, CLT-LANA
Co-founder and lead lymphedema & oncology therapist at LORC in Orland Park, with more than 28 years of clinical experience and bilingual care in Arabic and English. She holds the CLT-LANA — the highest lymphedema credential in North America, carried by roughly one therapist per 100,000 Americans — alongside wound and plastic-surgery certifications.

Background
The credential
patients search for.
Lamiaa Hefni co-founded the Lymphedema-Oncology Rehab Center and is one of the rare physical therapists in the country to hold the CLT-LANA — the highest lymphedema credential in North America, board-validated by the Lymphology Association of North America and carried by roughly one therapist per 100,000 Americans. With more than 28 years of clinical experience and care offered in both Arabic and English, she leads lymphedema and oncology rehabilitation at LORC in Orland Park.
Her practice is built on Complete Decongestive Therapy, the international standard of care for lymphedema. CDT rests on four pillars — manual lymphatic drainage, multi-layer compression bandaging, decongestive exercise, and meticulous skin care — and Lamiaa integrates all four into every patient's plan. As a Certified Wound Therapist and Certified Plastic Surgery Therapist, she also guides recovery for complex wounds, post-mastectomy and breast-reconstruction patients, lipedema, and women's health concerns.
Lamiaa keeps each case with a single therapist from evaluation through discharge. There is no rotation and no handoff — the same hands, the same eyes, and the same plan throughout. For patients navigating cancer recovery, that continuity is paired with genuine compassion: care that treats the whole person, not just the limb, and meets people where they are on a difficult road.

Lymphedema Therapy
Most clinics call themselves lymphedema-friendly. Lamiaa Hefni holds the CLT-LANA — the credential roughly 1 in 100,000 Americans is qualified to carry. That is the difference between learning lymphedema and specializing in it.
Complete Decongestive Therapy
CDT is the international gold standard for lymphedema. Four pillars — manual lymphatic drainage, compression, decongestive exercise, and skin care — delivered together by a CLT-LANA therapist at LORC.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage
MLD is a gentle, light-pressure technique that reroutes lymph through healthy pathways. Done by a CLT-LANA therapist it can reduce swelling safely — done with too much pressure it can worsen it. The training is the difference.
Post-Mastectomy Rehab
Breast surgery affects far more than the chest — shoulder motion, scar tissue, cording, and lymphedema risk all follow. We rehabilitate the whole picture so you recover full function, not just incision healing.
Wound Care
Chronic wounds tied to swelling and poor circulation rarely heal until the underlying problem is addressed. Our Certified Wound Therapist treats the wound and the lymphatic or vascular condition driving it — together.
Post-Plastic-Surgery Recovery
Swelling is the bottleneck in cosmetic-surgery recovery. Manual lymphatic drainage helps your body clear post-surgical edema faster — easing discomfort, improving mobility, and supporting the result you and your surgeon are after.
