PT, DPT, CLT — Co-Founder & Clinical Director
Dr. Omar Hussien
— PT, DPT, CLT
Co-founder and clinical director of the Lymphedema-Oncology Rehab Center in Orland Park. A Doctor of Physical Therapy and Certified Lymphedema Therapist who built LORC around one idea: restore mobility and quality of life for every lymphedema and cancer-recovery patient, one focused visit at a time.

Background
One mission,
one patient at a time.
Dr. Omar Hussien co-founded the Lymphedema-Oncology Rehab Center in Orland Park, with Lamiaa Hefni, to give patients living with lymphedema and the lasting effects of cancer treatment a place built entirely around their recovery. As a Doctor of Physical Therapy and Certified Lymphedema Therapist, he leads LORC with a single mission: to restore mobility, comfort, and quality of life for people whose conditions are too often rushed through or overlooked in a general clinic.
His care model is deliberately personal. Every patient works directly with their therapist in focused, one-on-one sessions — no rotating staff, no handoffs, no being passed between aides. That continuity lets Dr. Omar track progress closely, adjust each plan as the body responds, and hold treatment to clear, measurable goals from the first visit to discharge.
Dr. Omar's clinical work spans lymphedema therapy, oncology rehabilitation, orthopedic and post-surgical recovery, balance and fall prevention, and neurological rehabilitation. A member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the National Lymphedema Network, he keeps LORC's specialty focus sharp so that patients in Orland Park and the surrounding south suburbs can find expert, dedicated care close to home.

Lymphedema Therapy
Most clinics call themselves lymphedema-friendly. Lamiaa Hefni holds the CLT-LANA — the credential roughly 1 in 100,000 Americans is qualified to carry. That is the difference between learning lymphedema and specializing in it.
Oncology Rehab
Cancer treatment is hard on the body long after it ends. Our oncology rehab rebuilds strength, range of motion, and endurance — and manages the fatigue and deconditioning that survivorship rarely addresses on its own.
Surgical Pre-Hab
The stronger you go into surgery, the better you come out of it. Pre-hab conditions your body before your procedure — building strength, mobility, and stamina that translate directly into a faster, smoother recovery.
Balance & Fall Prevention
A fall can undo months of recovery. We build the balance, strength, and confidence that keep deconditioned cancer survivors and older adults steady on their feet — and measurably lower the risk of the next fall.
Self-Care Education
The goal of good lymphedema and oncology care isn't your last appointment — it's the day you can manage confidently at home. We teach self-MLD, skin care, garment care, and exercise so the gains hold long after treatment.
